About the Course
Our Fit for Life in Christ logo represents what we’re about in this 10 week study in spiritual development. The EKG line comes down from above, reminding us that life comes from God. The line goes into a heart and forms a cross in the heart. And we simply say that God in Grace has made us Fit for Life with Him through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. The horizontal EKG lines and arrows show that the Fit for Life story doesn’t end with the coming of Christ, and the sacrifice of Christ. God loved us and gave His Son to die for us, so that we can share the love of Christ with the other people in our lives.
Finally, as you face the logo, one arrow is going to be pointing directly at you. This course and concept isn’t about other people, it’s about you! You are the one who matters to God; you are the one He wants to fill with His love and His life.
The Leaders Manual
The heart of the Fit for Life in Christ course is the 469 page Leader's manual. Extensive leader's notes with multiple stories and lecture material are printed on the left page of the manual, with the smaller student page on the right with plenty of room for your own notes. Miniature pictures of the multiple illustrations sold with the course are placed conveniently next to their descriptions in the leader's notes. The leader's material is generally tied to the fill-in-the-blanks of the student guides, encouraging the class to take an active part in the lesson. Biblical references are printed out for your convenience. Lots of corny stories and ice-breakers in the notes give the leader many opportunities to lighten it up and surgically insert your points through the humor.
PowerPoint and Keynote
You will want to take advantage of the PowerPoint or Keynote program sold with this course. It is said that the mind remembers 10% of what we hear, 30% of what we see, 60% of what we see and hear, and 80% of what we see, hear, and do. The PowerPoint programs for each lesson of, Fit for Life in Christ are structured with those statistics in mind. The fill-in-the-blank format encourages the class to take an active part in each lesson. The blanks are filled in as you go and a multitude of accompanying illustrations are included. We also reference numerous video clips and where to find them for an extra impact to your teaching. Scripture references are hyperlinked so that you can point and click to visit that Scripture page and click back to the outline when you’re done looking at that verse.
